I keep forgetting it's the 4th! Maybe I'll go out and do something American, like eat fast food or something.

Heh, in Port Angeles there's a huge party every fourth. With bonfires, booze, roman candle wars (ROMAN CANDLE WARS) and this year there was fire dancing!!!
But fast food is good as long as you feel celebratory. What'd y'all all end up doing for the holiday?

I wound up hanging out at home chatting online like I always do. I heard some fireworks but there were too many trees in the way to see anything.
I have a severe lack of social life.

Thanks! ^_^ I hope it to be a fluffy one!
Fourth: awww, less fun but I've certainly spent some fourths like that. One time I got curious and found an elementary school sign to climb on, ended up catching three distant shows.
Normally I'm pretty un-social but that wasn't permitted this year.

Happy birthday, Lily! I hope that it was indeed fluffy and full of delicious baked goods.
I spent the fourth at a really gorgeous Indian (not the native american kind) wedding and then drove a V E R Y L O N G W A Y home (worked yesterday). But it was worth it and now my hands are decorated in henna ^^
Roman candle wars sound pretty much thrilling... although I can't say I'd be ((courageous???))) enough to participate. But I'd love to watch!

You're spelling was spot on and yeah. In the two years I've seen it happen, I've never played but it makes for a wonderful floor(ish) show. ^_^ One guy got hit right in the chest, but was wearing two shirts so he's good.
The Indian wedding sounds AMAZING. That culture has some amazingly pretty and awesome things. Henna especially.
Oh the baked goods! Fluffyness and baked goods abound!

Hey, jumping in here even though it's totally of topic of what you guys are talking about :'D I'm PlatinumMonster and I just recently joined, you can call me Plat, or Monster, or even platipus like some people do. ^^'
Roman Candle Wars sounds awesome, here in the boondocks we used mini-dynamite and threw it at each other, but there were babies around so we had to stop... ^^'

I've never heard of mini-dynamite, but I'm glad that you stopped throwing it when you found out about the babies!
Welcome, Plat! Always nice to have someone else to help eat the pancakes.
Let me know what your favorite topping is and I'll pick some up for you on my way home tomorrow :op
